Greetings From Merritt, NC!!!

My name is Michael (Mike) Caplis and along with my wife Janeen, we are Constitutional Conservatives living on beautiful Rice Creek off the Bay River in Merritt, North Carolina.

I started Down County Firearms (FFL and MGS Advanced Gunsmith Certified: In-Progress) quite simply to support our rights under the 2nd Amendment … personally, just a firearms enthusiast and do not hunt but enjoy sport shooting when the chance arises. Additionally, Janeen and I enjoy the outdoors either working on our property, boating and fishing, riding our H-D and evenings at the firepit looking up the creek to the moonlit sky over the river.

Down County Firearms is intended to be an option for you to purchase primarily rifles and pistols. I am slowly building a small inventory of select pieces but also a Lipsey’s Authorized Dealer & TALO Distributor… so, have access to pretty much anything you are looking for (I do not, and don’t intend to, carry ammunition as it is not feasible to maintain the inventory volumes for making it cost effective).
